I did many interesting shoots with her and Prabuddho Das Gupta. however the fashion scene at the time was largely unprofessional with con job self-proclaimed co-ordinators making work most unpleasant for budding talent. Show fees were not paid on time, in the case of Ramesh Dembla, a so-called designer and social butterfly, show fees were not paid at all! Then While in Bangalore I met the lovely Rashmi Virmani, who convinced me to sign on with her Delhi based agency called ‘The Ramp’, which was a bit of a joke. On numerous occasions I was speaking with the client directly to negotiate my rates from which her agency would demand a percentage, although I had done the collaborative work.
Lakhs of rupees were held and cheques bounced until I completely lost it with their lack of ethics and stopped working with them altogether! Now Eventually, I saw that I had to move to Mumbai to continue a professional career with a well-established agency. I have been with Atul Kasbekar’ sagency Bling for over a year now and am thrilled to work with managers who have their finger on the pulse of fashion and commercial work in India. You need both! The best thing about being a model. The international travel and highly creative professionals I work with. Fashion to me means good fit, quality design and a bit of eclecticism.

Bitchiness bores me to death and I have consciously removed myself from the envious gossipy types who have nothing better to do than sit around and talk shit all day. But these are few and far between. I wholly enjoy my work and full life, that’s why I do it! Any secret of yours I want to make the first skydiving club in India.
